I'd like to thank you all.
Last night I watched District 9 and have to say I haven't had so much fun watching a movie since I don't know when. A great, great film. An action sci-fi with a brain, gosh, I've waited so long but I really didn't have a clue what I was letting myself in for when I bought the dvd. I'd heard people gushing about it on here, checked out the trailer (which really didn't give very much away) and thought I'd try it. It seems you lot have impeccable taste.
Same could be said for [REC] and Paranormal Activity, both of which I enjoyed tremendously but wouldn't have a clue about them if I didn't come on here.
I think Kevin Smith said that 'a film will find it's audience eventually', and it's true, regardless how much you spend on promotion and advertising (cough... Avatar... cough), at the end of the day if your film is good enough there will always be an audience for it. And I have to say that discovering a film through word of mouth is more rewarding than having the bloody thing rammed down you're throat by the ad-men. If it's any good, you'll soon hear about it on here.
