Wood TW6-6 TW-555 Cam Dyno Test by Fuel Moto

Shoot, in that case I'd put in some SE211s, but that's because I like the sound of a nasty idle.

I probably wouldn't put 255s in a softail, but there's lots of guys that do. The stage II kits from the MOCO have 255 cams, no matter what the platform.

******* my apologies for the thread hijack ***********

how in the world did 255s wind up in a woods 6/555 thread. LOL!

YOu got me, been readin the whole post and like what jamie posted.

But seems like a lot of folks are still comfused on what to do.
And some are scared and lookin for answers cause they never looked at what to do 1st.

And don't understand why nobody has talked to Jamie or a builder on a total pkg on what they want in end results and build in stages if they don't have all the money toward that build instead of just puttin parts on and thinkin about taking part off later on.
If you put the right cams in and do the pistons jugs and heads later on you don't have to come back and jack with the cams again.

And 70,000 ain't really a lot of mines on a twin cam if the bike has been taken care of.
If compression is still good why worry so much.

I just installed a set of woods555 in my '07 softtail deluxe. the difference between them and stock is very noticable. the only thing i dont like is at warm idle the sound with V&H true duals is very sharp or barkey, no rumble or thump, this is with the quiet baffels i installed eailer to help bring some of the bottom end back. anyone know of some larger diameter slip ons that would fit? it is a wicked bark tho.

I hear you cardboard. I just dyno/tuned her with the new fatcat and ended up with 74 hp/ 89 ftlb and the tuner sais thats pretty good for my miles. So the top end should be in good shape. I settled on the 555 for now and a future 103/ported head set up. I dont want to over do it and end up with a twisted crank or something and from what all you guys have said I can be confident in my choice. You guys have been a huge source of knowledge and thanks. I did call jamie and he was a huge help! I worry because she's my daily driver and I would like to get to 200 thou before I split the cases. Thanks agian guy's!
