I have been so set on doing the woods 6 but now I think I might go with the 555. They are both close and the 6 is more proven. I dont have to make up my mind tonight as this will be a winter project.

Tedman, could you elaborate on why Hillside recommended the 4* Adv with your 555's??

In Jamie's test of the 4* adv with the TW6-6 it proved only a very minor, almost not worth the trouble difference.... so I'm just curious why you would use the 4* adv - especially since the 555 brings on the TQ even earlier than the 6-6..

I agree but I think he got his point across. The two cams are very close. I want to commend Jamie for going through this comparison especially with the 4* advance gear vs straight up. There is a lot of informative information in here. at least both cams don't crap out as bad as most dyno charts of the 255's do past about 3500-4000.

If you had done the hit at 2,500 rpm the out come should have been much different. Going WOT at 2,000 rpm is to low, not good for the crank, not to mention the throttle progressivity for the TBW won't let the throttle open very far until your past 2,500 rpm unless you use a SEST or TTS to change that table. Your choice of exhaust could also hamper you a touch on the bottom end because duals normally shift the torque curve to the right. I'm running the 255 cams in my Trike right now and find their better than stock but suck wind when you have to wind it up past 4,000 rpm while passing a car or truck. This winter I'm switching cams to either the TW6-6 or now I'm thinking the 555, have some months to think. I may also address the crummy gearing the MoCo gave us.
