Women, would you trade down your lifestyle for marriage?

Say you came from a lifestyle in which you didnt have to do anything for yourself let alone others. Lets say you didnt have to work and you could pretty much do what you want. Its not that you are spoil...you just didnt have other that were dependent on you.

Would you be willing to marry and settle down in a lifestyle that was harder than what you grew up in? All of a sudden you had to work to pay mortgage, bills, taxes, etc...and you husband wanted children so there is that added responsibility...you also wanted to excell in your career but it demanded a lot of time and commitment...

Would you be willing to trade down or do most women trade up?
Family and marriage isnt trading down! However there are other factors that would make it trading down...like having no choice but to work and not having a lot of time with small children.

Though I'm not a woman I am married with a child and I say settling down, getting married and raising a family is not trading down, it's trading up. The use a term the US Navy uses in accepting these challenges in life you are actually accelerating your life. Settling and raising a family is not by any stretch of the imagination easy. However it's very enriching and the rewards are unmatched. We must consider our lives like the muscles we are made of. The more we exercise the stronger we become. Challenge and adversity making us grow. To not experience challenges in ones life promotes atrophy. Weak mind, weak spirit, weak body equals a weak life.
