PLEASE HELP!
I'm wondering if anyone knows women in the Revolutionary War who were leaders of the Homefront, or any women who followed their husbands in war (ex. Abigail Adams, Martha Washington) And a brief descripton please?
Please and thank you!!
Yes I have already looked up Molly Pitcher. Thank you, though. Any others? I'm DESPERATE here.

-Mary "Molly Pitcher" Hays...her husband joined the continental army, she followed him where ever he went to sew uniforms for the soldiers, during one battle, it got really hot, so Mary got a pitcher full of water and would bring the water to the men, when the men needed water they yelled "Molly! Pitcher" hence her nickname, later during the battle her husband collapsed and she took his position at the cannon

-Lydia Darragh...lived in Philadelphia, when the British occupied it, they used her house for meetings, she would spy on them from a linen closet, she heard of a plan about a surprise attack and warned Washington's army, the British were defeated

-Deborah Sampson...felt the need to serve her country so she dressed as a man and walked fifty miles to a recruiment station were she could enlist without a physical examination, soon she was fighting and got shot in the leg, later she removed the bullet herself with a pen and needle, later she fell ill and became unconscious, when a doctor examined her, he found that she was a women, she was discharged from the army with honor, when she died, her name and the name she used when she pretended to be a man were put on her gravestone along with the epitaph "The female soldier"

hope thats what u were looking for, good luck

Look up the legend of "Molly Pitcher". Molly was probably an amalgam of many working class women that followed the armies. Of course they washed and cooked for soldiers but they also did very brave things like bringing water onto the battlefields, rescuing the injured and binding wounds all under gunfire.
