women in the army question?

i would love to hear ur general opinion on women in the army, more so about them in learning how to shoot weapons which is normally a man's job etc. i began searching forums and one woman who was a mother said she was disgusted any woman would want to join the army. she said she thinks being a mother is a beautiful thing, taking care of children and the house should be a priority for women and the army should remain a man's job. what do you think of this statement?
i want to join the army in the future and i am female and i strongly believe i would be quite good at sniping and learning the life they live. however my grandparents, who are quite old fashioned wont ever allow this to happen
