WLan antenna question N80ie

Is there anyway to check or improve performance on the wlan tool?
i have an n80 and a n800 and the n800 sees more access points compared to n80 and also drops less frequently , is there a way to change power?

on my E65 i can change the wlan settings from Automatically to manual and then change the power settings and stuff

I find that I can nearly obliterate any wifi receptio on my N80ie if my hand is covering the back-right of it (camera button side). This is because the wifi antenna is basically just under the camera button, so if you hold it as normal, you are covering it up. Try holding it left handed, or just put it on a desk or something and you may see an enormous improvement. When the signal gets really weak, holding the phone so the side with the camera button is facing the source of the signal also helps.

Part of this is that you are comparing it to the n800 which is a monster at WiFi... The n800 picked stuff up that neither my phone OR my laptop would find when I was testing it (works well for wardriving for that reason)
