I have been on Bromazepam 6mg twice a day for about 20 years and my specialist is trying to take me off them. He wants to get me off them by February, but I know I cannot do it as I have been tapering off since august 18 by 1/4 pill per day. I went down to 1 and 1.4 pills a day or down to 7.5 mg by October 14th, but I began to experience withdrawal symptoms. I have moved back up by 1/4 pill a day to 9.0 mg per day. I feel comfortable at this tiem, but I have to try to taper off more and I don't know if I can take the agony. My family physician doctor told me to take it as slow as I wanted to , even if it takes me until this time next year to do it. Will I get a tolerance from them if I go down at a slow rate? I have tried a taper of another 1/8 of a pill today and will continue with that until I feel comfortable enough to move further. Can someone advise me if that is too slow or not and what can they recommend for me to do? Please I just need help and some advise to get off these.
