With verizon wireless, can you block a number from texting and calling you?

please i need as many answers as possible.
if it's possible, how do you block the number?
i need to know asap.
 
i dont have verizon but with att you just call them and tell them what number and they can do it for you.... there might be an extra charge though ... or if that doesnt work you can set the number to a specific profile on your phone and make that profile always ring silent
 
my guess would be to call your phone company and tell them the number and they'll block the # for you
