With Obama's massive unemployment numbers, wouldn't this be a good time to

Obama W. Bush

increase the size of our Military? Little things like North Korea has an Army 20 times larger than ours. Combined with the proven ineffectiveness of the Air Force and their useless Smart Bombs.

Excellent idea. The military has so many opportunities for its men and women who serve. They provide specialized training in many areas that with skills that will transfer into numerous civilian jobs once the service-person fulfills his/her duty (ususally 4 years) or retires (career service).

An excellent idea - lets further increase the military so it can suck even more billions out of the economy to support it - hastening the collapse of America all that much faster.

Try reading Sun Tzu - as relevant today as it was 2700 years ago.

can you show some figures? cause i don't believe you

also they are using out dated tanks and aircraft

and you can only recruit people who want to join the army

Obama (like Clinton) is attempting to operate as did FDR. Let me explain:

In 1994 I had opportunity to converse with one of Clinton's "architects" for the military draw down (Adm. Nader). It was actually Bush Sr. who'd planned the draw down and started it prior to Desert Shield/Storm. Clinton had no idea what he was doing or when to quit, he was just going with the flow.

As it was explained to me, the reason for the draw down was because the economy was "sluggish." I had to ask: "If the economy is sluggish that usually indicates that people aren't spending money either because they're unemployed of because their pay checks are no longer keeping pace with the cost of living. If the latter is the case, that generally indicates that there are a limited number of jobs available and very few are able to move up. With all of this in mind, how then is taking a huge number of gainfully employed people, making them suddenly unemployed and then turning them loose on an already sluggish economy supposed to help?" I was told to "Sit Down!"

His answer SHOULD HAVE BEEN: The government is not in the business of making money so when it employs people (on a broad scale, like the military), it is spending more than it's taking in.

This is a clear demonstration of why the uneducated Reagan was so much smarter than either the Rhodes Scholar Clinton and now the Harvard Professor of Constitutional Law.
