With clay, I know what a coil is, but would this example be called a coil?

i'm in art at school, and right now we're doing clay. and we need to design a project that includes a pinch pot, slap, and a coil. i'm thinking if doing a simple small wedding cake. i got the pinch pot and slab covered, but for the coil, would the little loop thingies i have circled in red in the following picture count as a coil if i obviously made them bigger? or does a coil always have to be like coiled around in a circle or whatever... HELP ASAP
