With Apple Mac laptops, do you need anything to play sims 2?

I am getting a Apple Mac Laptop, I want to play sims 2 on it and no expansions, just the orgianal sims 2. Since this laptop is one of the best, do I need any special requirements to play, or because it is a very good laptop, can the sims 2 play with out any special requirements? Does this laptop have the right graphics and requirements to play?
i'm 14, so please explain in a way a young kid will understand and I also forgot to say thanks!

it should be fine. we have a mac and play Sims 3 on it. It does lock up the rest of the computer sometimes.
