I have found I do better once I understand why I am changing something than simply changing that "thing" at a specific location I have had more trouble trying to figure out all of the acronyms in the settings and the differnce in terminology between phones. NAI, PHA, SHA, HASS (Str) MHSPI, AAASS (Str) MASPI (1 - ??) Profile Enabled (?) MIP Enable / Disable( N o IP "which is what I had to check" MIP Preferred MIP Only) MCC, NMSI, SPL, SID, MID, MIN, WAP, SMS Etc.....

Also there are a lot of menu items in my phone that I have never found a single shred of information on if these settings even work when changed. 3G Data 1, 3G Data 2, PPP Settings has two boxes AUTH NAI: and AUTH Password:

Slot Cycle Index, Home Sys Registration (yes or NO) Foreign SIS Registration (yes or no) Access Overload Class (1 - ??)

If I knew what each one of these meant and did I think I might comprehend faster and probably would shorten my reading time. I have read several posts where someone uses one term completely differnt that the term needed on my phone to do the same action...

Just food for thought...

A lot of those things you can find from google. Every phone is different too, especially since you're talking EVDO phones, which cricket doesn't even have yet (although will soon).

Here is an example: In google I typed CDMA SID and here is the 4th response

SID and NID

Definition: SID is the System Identification nuraber and NID is the Network Identification nuraber. A system is all the base stations considered to constitute a cellular system. A network is a subset of the base stations which comprise a cellular system. A network might be defined as all the Base Transceiver Stations (BTSs) controlled by a given Centralized Base Station Controller (CBSC).
