Wisdom teeth removal?

I am planning to reomve wisdom teeth(2 from left side) and doctor is suggesting to go for sleep and remove.i read many place local anestisia works and as per my insurance which is cheaper and other one is above 300$.I am wondering why doctor is demotivating me like, you will have pain if you dont go for sleep and other stuffs.please suggest me which one is better
