The previous owner of my car messed with a lot in my car, including the stereo harness. The speakers are wired for an amp anyways, so that doesn't matter. Can I cut the harness, then just wire the ignition switch, the constant power, and the ground, and then just wire the speakers individually to the head unit? Also, to power the stereo, can I wire it straight to the battery, or will that give it too much power and fry it?
Do I really need the ignition switch, or can I just use the constant power source, and turn the stereo off manually when I turn the car off?
