Wireless broadband and mobile phones?

Hi,

We have wireless at our house in the form of a router, as most of the family has laptops. I was looking to buy a new phone, and was wondering which phones (if any) I can use to access the internet at home from the router not paying for data through the phone which I understand to be rather expensive.

Can this be done? If so, how do I tell whether a phone can do so or not? I was looking at getting a LG Webslider or Hiptop type phone.

Thanks guys

You home most likely has Wi-Fi. Look for a Wi-Fi capable phone if you want to use your home network to access data on the phone. Also, some carriers track the data usage on your phone and charge it to your bill regaurdless of if you have a data plan or not. This can often be avoided by unlocking the phone, and erasing the carriers settings. Unlocking means that a GSM phone has the ability to work on any GSM network. In the US, the only GSM networks are T-Mobile and ATT. If your in the UK, the GSM providers are T-Mobile, Vodafone, and O2.

This can be done if your cellphone has " WiFi ".
To find out whether a cellphone has or not WiFi,you can read on the specification which usually found on the box or manual book,or Just google for its specification.
I m sure LG Web slider does not has Wifi, but not sure bout Hiptop.
