WinVista: Does using a flash drive as RAM function the same as RAM. See details...?

Let's say I only have 2GB of RAM in my system, but I buy and use a 32GB flash drive and set it up as system memory. Does this memory function just as if I increased my physical memory by 32GB?

Is it just as fast?
Are there any noticeable performance differences?
Does all software seamlessly promote the change, or are there a conflicts with certain apps?
