Winter Riding

Thanks to make that clear. Wasn't it obiousely that is the question is riding in "rain, cold and snow"? English isn't my first language, but at least I can read.

I know that's why I wrote that...because rain or shine doesnt really apply here.

The last time it rained was the day I got my 1098 a few months ago.

any picture of your 1098? Got anybody to ride with? lets get in group sometimes. I am heading down to spectrum maybe next month for Termi install.

I think this is the first non rainy day after getting it home from the dealer. Still looks the same except for the hacked rear fender.

Tomorrow the Termi slip-ons, MW clutch cover, springs and pressure plate come in. I'll probably install that tomorrow if I'm not busy at work.

As far as riding I havent seen any turns that dont include a stoplight in too long. I'm always up for a sat/sun ride. I think there's a regional forum here maybe get a ride going.

In the UK is has done nothing but rain this year. I have done most of my advanced training in the rain, much of it on twisty roads and at high speeds, and you would be surprised how much traction bikes have in the wet. Good choice of tyres helps.

I tend to ride a BMW R1100S in wet weather, but routinely ride any bike, superbikes included, in the rain.

Donlt scare yourself, get some training if that will help your skills and confidence (it did mine).

I would not ride in icy conditions or on snow.

I have seen a sidecar equipped R100RS with studded tires go through a snowstorm like it was a sunny day in Socal. Therefore anything can be done, it is just all in the preparation. A good supermoto with rain tires. an accessory plug in for your vest and heated grips you should be good to go. One warning however, off season riders need to be even more on alert because car drivers don't expect you and rain combined with shorter daylight hours makes for visibility issues for you and the 4 wheelers.
