Winter Riding

Crappy start to the day, someone decided to play bumper cars with the vehicle I just bought, not a new car, but was a great deal for a used vehicle. Owned for less than a month and now its probably totaled.

My question is, does anyone ride year round, throught the rain, cold, snow? I live in the city and only use the car to get to work on rainy days and in the winter. Is it possible to go bike only all year? Got a 15 mile commute. Was thinking about getting a supermoto or touring style bike for the crappy weather rides.

Anyone out there experiement with this? I rode into December last year.

I rode my 999 in the rain and never had issues with traction all the time and the one time I rode my 1098 in the rain again no problems. I just haven't ridden my 1098 much yet.

You are really lucky that you are still alive if you are planning to use 1098 for commuter driving in rain and snow.

man, living in boston and thinking about commuting in the winter? i imagine you would last 1 maybe 2 days of cold/windy riding before you give that up.

Wasn't planning on riding the superbike once it got crappy. I have ridden it in the rain with little to no issues. Was thinking about getting a cheap dual sport for the poorer weather.

Newport beach is at OC dude. If you live here and you will known. BTW, when is the alst time it rains? I can't remember.

The original poster were thinking to commute with 1098 in rain and snow. That is a bad idea....
