windshield nuts and bolts

I replaced a lost acorn nut on my c50 windshield. I checked several others to see if they were tight and discovered all turned without much effort. The windshield was installed when I bought the bike about a year ago. Can anyone tell me how tight these should be and would you recommend lock tight or similar product to keep them from getting loose again?

A good dealer uses locktite.
I found out the hard way. It was hard to find replacements bolts.
Check your bike over on a regular basis.

Use blue lock tite.

Mine too worked loose, as well as many of the nuts and bolts over time. I personally don't use locktite on the windshield bolts, but checked and snugged them up several times during the season. As far as how tight, I tighten them tight enough not to work loose too soon, but loose enough not to crack the windshield, hows that for a politically correct, no answer answer. Sorry about that, but seriously, I would call it firm tight, but not cranked tight or it will crack the windshield. I like the nylon lock nuts better, because they remove easier if needed predictably and locktite is sometimes a bear to remove regardless of the type you use.

Yes. But I'd recommend a TINY bit.
Some things do nasty stuff to bike shields.
I don't know if Loctite is one of them but I'd prefer not to find out.

On second thought, dab a little on your shield and let us know, OK?
