Windows XP game on Windows 7?

My daughter wants a PC game for Xmas. I started to order it and noticed the game says you need Windows XP, SP3, Windows Vista SP2 to play it. My daughters laptop is Windows 7. The game is a 2008, and her laptop is a 2009, will this game play on her laptop?
