windows media player?

i want to burn music to a cd but when i use windows media player it says next cd with plenty of space can any tell me what the best step to do i try nero no help and shampoo one i was told by a guy at staples that i can add more song by make them into a smaller format the only one i know that can do that is windows media player?
 
Use a blank disc.
If you are what kind are you using? (mini 250mb, normal 700mb)
How many songs are you trying to put? (maybe add less)
