Windows Media Player not able to share with Xbox or PS3?

Windows media player on my pc no longer works with the sharing content option, it used to work but doesn't anymore and I have no idea why, because when I go to configure sharing and click the share my media check box nothing happens after wards, I know it's suppose to have a menu come up under it allowing you to choose which devices you want to share with, that menu used to be there but now it isn't, i have the latest update for WMP too. So has anyone else had this problem or am I just going to have to un-install and install again
