Windows Media Player 11 issue?

Okay, I decided to change my laptop speaker's output from 16 bit to 24 bit. And now Windows Media Player won't play. iTunes, Quicktime, Youtube, all other things that require sound work fine. But WMP only works on the 16 bit sound. I'd like to keep the 24 bit, it sounds MUCH better...so how can I fix this?
