I have been listening to music with Windows Media Explorer all day long and it has worked perfectly. Then, about a half hour ago I removed a few programs, (none of them vital, I assure you) and among them was an mp3 editing program called Audacity. It shouldn't have effected Windows Media in any way, as I downloaded it independently and have had it for quite some time, but I rebooted my computer after removal and once the computer came back up, Windows Media refused to work. It will act as if the music is playing, but there is no actual sound. Apple Quicktime works and all my online sites work, including an online radio built into my web browser, but Windows Media will not work. Is there anything I can do to resolve the problem? Do you have any idea what it might be?
Additional information:
I have a laptop computer, only months old
I have Vista
I keep my programs updated
The only programs I removed were: Zwinky (avatar program), a stickman editor, and Audacity.
