HP Windows 7 x64-bit (using internal bluetooth component)

Microsoft Presenter Mouse 8000 (not using USB bluetooth component)
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=085
Whenever I turn on my computer, it takes at least a minute for the two device to begin working. At some points throughout sessions, I lose the connection as well.
I have tried...
1. Replacing batteries - Same results
2. Various distances of operation - Same results
3. Uninstalling driver, then installing - Same results
4. Disabling adapter, then re-enabling - Same results
5. Reconfiguring device - Same results
6. Installing the latest Intellipoint software - Same results
The device worked (absolutely perfect) with my Gateway Windows Vista x32-bit laptop's internal bluetooth card.
Any ideas, forums, support, advice... thank you!
Chris
