dvdfile.com reports that the original Star Wars trilogy will debut alongside their special editions in a DVD set to hit shelves Sep 12th.

Oh how George must be laughing all the way to the bank. Get all the suckers (er fans) to cough up for the Special Editions on DVD, then reissue them again (minus fourth disc) and before he starts to milk the HD release possibilities, finally get the original editions out.

This is genius. How many times have these films been out now (from original rental tape release onwarRAB?) and now he's going to coin it in again.

No doubt the last hurrah for the films on standard DVD will be a massive Matrix type box set with 6 films (original and special editions) and lots of unseen extras.

Ironic really, when 'Empire' is still the only really decent film out of the 6.

I can't believe how someone like him can milk the same movies over and over again and still make billions at a time.

Still if consumers continue to buy his endless rehashes good luck to him.
