Wilton cake decorating class course 1 PROBLEM!? 10 pts best answr?

Ok well can someone please tell me how to make the class frosting in the booklet on page 7?? It says PURE CANE SUGAR and im pretty sure i got the right package, but when i made the frosting the texture was like sand.
This time i got the PURE CANE SUGAR POWDERED, is that the right one i got? My class is tomorrow night so please help!!
