will Verizon Wireless hire me if i owe them money?

I got an air card when i was 18 from them and the first month i had it i went over and made myself a 1800$ bill and i could never pay it so it went on to my credit report, now i have an interview with them and i know they will do a credit check i wanna know if thats going to be a reason for them not to hire me or not.
 
I think that they will care more that you defaulted on your loan than the fact that it was with them.
It might seem an irresponsible thing to do from their perspective.
Try to show them that you have changed and that those actions don't represent who you are now.
