I've read that the Vance & Hines Cruzer II for the Intruders up to 2004 will fit the S50 2005 and up. Is this true and do you have to re-jet the carbs after the install?
Yes they fit have them on my 06 S50. Didn't have to rejet seems the VS800 and S50 run richer with free flowing exhaust. I would pull the caps off and adj your mixture screws for the best mix. They are set real lean form the factory. You will have to rejet if you change the air filters to freer flowing ones or modify the air boxes.
To adj the mixture screws just find the brass caps, they will or should have a small hole in them, very slowly open the hole with a drill bit a little smaller than a sheet metal screw that you have. Screw the sheet metal screw a couple of threads into the cap. Grab the screw with a pair of pliers and pull out of the carb. Let bike warm up, take for a ride around the block, screw one in, clockwise, slowly till the engine starts to slow and then out till idle smooth-ens out then out another 1/4 turn and stop.
