Will UVA accept an applicant with a lower gpa if they have an amazing art

portfolio/supplement? I hear that the University of Virginia is looking to expand their arts. Clearly they are an amazing school with very high standards but someone told me that they knew 2 students in their advanced art class that got into UVA with an average gpa (B/B+) because they had amazingly impressive art portfolios/supplements. I did not get to find out if they were out-of-state or in-state though and that makes a big difference.

If an applicant has a gpa of about 3.66(unweighted), 3.82(weighted) and is out-of-state with pretty good SATS, great extracurriculars/community service/awards/art awards but most of all, an amazing portfolio where their talent clearly shows through, do you think UVA would overlook the lower than usual gpa and accept them? (collegeboard says 89% of the students who go there had HS gpas of 3.75 or higher)

How low of a gpa do you think they will accept for an applicant with an incredible art portfolio?
