Will unlocking and rooting make an HTC Aria "invisible" to AT&T?

I have had 3 unlocked Nokia smartphones (unlocked from the factory, never locked to a carrier) on AT&T, and was always able to have the cheaper unlimited non-smartphone plan on them. I bought a used HTC Aria, which was a locked phone on AT&T. I never put my SIM card in it before unlocking it. I unlocked the phone, then put my SIM card in. Within a day, I got a text from AT&T saying they are putting me on an appropriate smartphone plan. $10 more, and 2 gb rather than unlimited data. I have gone to an old Moto Slvr and the data plan altogether now. I have also rooted the Aria, wiped all AT&T original bloatware from it, and flashed a new ROM to it with Froyo (Android 2.2). My question, finally... If I put my SIM card in the Aria now, will it still be recognized by AT&T as an Aria, or will it be unidentifiable as the Nokias seemed to be?
