Will unhooking the battery in a '99 Buick Century hurt anything?

I know that unhooking the battery in some of the newer vehicles can cause all sorts of problems... from security systems, to the ECU computers losing their memory, etc.

I'm just wondering if there's a good mechanic or somebody who knows for sure that unhooking the battery in a 1999 Buick Century won't do anything more than reset the clock radio.

THANK YOU!!

it won,t hurt a thing. like you said the only thing is that you will have to reset the clock and radio stations. i do it on my 88 oldsmobile all the time and it don,t hurt it except the radio.

when you delete battery power you clear the memory of the vehicles computer..also you kill all the monitors on a OBD 2 system. not to worry though, as long as the vehicle is not due for a state inspection all ya got to do is drive it for a while. In a Dodge product you may experience some stalling , and idle searching..again.this will clear up after driving a while.

well, you loose the clock memory, the radio station presets, the cpu will loose information of current conditions like fuel system strategy, but that is relearned in a short time.
