Hi, I'm brand new to this site. Please direct me if I'm asking this question in the wrong area. I have much to share but will do a nutshell version as of now. I have had an addiction to pain medication for quite some time. Went to rehab, am now in recovery but recently had a serious injury. ER Dr. prescribed ultracet. Is this a narcotic? He told me it wasn't but i've heard different. Does it contain codeine? I've had others say to me that if it were to be approved again that it would be classified as a narcotic. Don't want to take a misstep. Really needing insite before filling this script. Thanks

Hi CarrieRenee,

Welcome to the group. I am not familiar with Ultracet, You also might want to talk to your physician or a pharmacist and tell them your situation to get an authoritative answer to your question. Ultracet is non-narcotic, but is has some potentially serious side effects, especially if you have used narcotic or street drugs recently.

I hope things work out for you. Let us know how it goes. We're here to help.

It is addictive but if you take it as recommended by your doctor. You will still be considered sober. But be very careful, it could wake up the sleeping monster and it could drive you to your drug of choice. I agree with Carrierenee talk to your doctor before using.

Peace be with you on your journey.

Lori
