will this software as a service business be successful or fail?

I want to start a SAAS business but i was wondering, i am good at bettering existing forms of software like computer aided design, image editors, busisness software, and other stuff that already exist but i innovate in the sense of giving existing type of software new features...
so is this business going to be sucessful? and can you give me any advice on how to innovate?
