Will This Put To Rest The Fears Of Small Business Regarding Health Care Reform?

You missed the minimum payroll costs clause that supersedes the head count.

But think for a second, I have a good friend whose small business owns three restaurants and employs more than 50 people. The added costs could very well put him out of business. He has said he will attempt to stay in business but the added mandates will cost more than his current profits and he can only raise his prices so far before he loses customer to the national chains who can absorb the costs more easily/

The Senate bill also exempts businesses with 50 or fewer employees from the employer mandate. It also provides tax credits to small businesses that choose to offer health insurance in order to help cover the costs, and contrary to some misinformation, this benefit will begin next year.

According to a health economist at MIT, health insurance reform will save small businesses 25 percent in health insurance premiums over the next decade. That adds up to $65 billion and will allow small businesses to preserve or create 80,000 jobs over the next decade and will increase the take-home pay of workers in small businesses by nearly $30 billion a year.

Does this help put to rest the fearful lies that the right wing has been spreading about how small business will be decimated by health care reform? I hope so, because the above comments are the truth, not some POISONED spin delivered by the REPUBLICANS, aka the "Party of NO!"
