Will this memory card work with the W580i Walkman?

Hey guys I have a Razr V3 but I just ordered a W580i Walkman in white. I knew that I was going to get a new phone and I knew I wanted a music phone so I bought a SanDisk - 2GB microSD Memory Card kit on Black friday for only $20

I checked and the w580i has some weird memory card... a micro M2 or something. Does that mean that the memory card that I bought wont fit?
 
Yes, the microSD card you bought won't work on your W580i. The only format is as you mentioned, Memory Stick Micro M2. Just like Sony, Sony Ericsson just loves to manufacture proprietary equipment for increased profit (which can be annoying at times).
 
peryus88 is correct. However, if I may add to peryus88's comment.... not sure what provider your dealing with but here in Canada, Rogers is giving an 8GB M2 card WITH the purchase of a W580i. Granted you have to go online and order it and it takes a bit of time to get it but it's no bother to me as it comes with a 512mb card. Perhaps you may wish to contact your provider to see if any such deals are available to you.

Thanks for the answers. That's a bummer that it won't work.

I have AT&T and they don't have any of those deals at the moment. I'll probably return the micro sd card I bought and get a m2 card on ebay or something like that. Thanks again.
