ok, so me and my friend are thinking of starting up our own internet business. Im 14 and he is 15 and both take business studies at school although neither of us have any experience in business.
We know we want to sell goods on a website. so far we know that we would like to use www.justhost.com for our web hosting. We recently had the idea of selling fans and fan heaters on a website. We would like to do this as we have noticed that there isnt that many places that specify in that area. We would like to know if this would be succesful or not.
Also we have come across the problem of postage. we figure the kind of fans we would be selling would range from £5 - £30 from a wholesaler. but our problem is that if we baught a desk fan for £5, it would probably cost us £6 including postage and packaging from the wholesaler. So we have our fan, and were £6 down. we sell it for about £10 which is the price that other people are selling them for. we get a buyer so in theory we should be £4 up. But posting the fan to our customer would cost £3-4, so the whole process would leave us were we were at the start.
any help or suggestions would be a great help
the website only costs about £3 a month for 3 years. and there is no other cost. you get £30 credit with google adwords and a few other things like it which is very effective advertising. after that it would be like £20 a month to advertise. main problem is posting products to customers.
