Will they help with used phones?

I obtained a phone from a friend, its an LG VX9900 (env). It's about a year old. It has a charging problem, as it's very common with this phone. I'm wondering that if I take it into Verizon, would they help me if this phone is a used phone that I did not originally buy get the charging part fixed? It is labeled a Verizon phone and I'm sure I could leave out the part that I didn't buy it from them but someone else did, but I'm sure they can check my account to see that I activated it with the activate used phone feature.

So do you think they'd be able to help me? It isn't a huge issue, but if there is a chance they might possibly be able to help fix it then I'd like to at least try. I love this phone and my upgrade isn't due up until March.

Def call CS and talk to them. Do you have insurance? Learned my lesson the hard way yesterday when I lost my Krave & didn't have insurance. Had to buy another one @ retail. Even if you have to buy another one, add insurance. Just trying to give a piece of helpful advice :)

If you call *611 from your phone, and pick the option for tech support ( the number escapes me ), then hit zero, it should transfer you to a person. I know that equipment repair may be more of a CS issue, but tech support should be able to help you, or get you to someone who can. As long as the phone is active on your account, which it sounds like it is, I don't see why (if you get a decent rep) they can't get it swapped out for you. Its a VZW branded phone, so its not like you brought it from another carrier. Not sure if I've been much help, but I try. Let me know if I can help some more :)

Great Question!

I am not happy to inform you that it is not able to be serviced by Verizon Wireless. They will look at the phone if you take it into the store. They may be able to detect all the issues, etc. for you, but they will not replace it...or any of the accessories.

You may be capable of bargaining out a deal of a replacement for $50. This is the out of warranty (with no insurance) price for the devices. They may not offer it, since the device was previously activate...but what the heck, give it a try!

Hey Dis,

Where are you from? If you are from the southeast, I can point you to the indirect that I deal with. They are a huge dealer, and can probly help you out as far as cutting you a good deal on something new. Lemme know....

Anytime you call Verizon Wireless, all of the reps are "tech" certified...well the highest level of tech support you can receive before being transferred from the original rep.

Simply call them (I recommend from a landline phone) at 1-800-922-0204. Enter your wireless number (if asked for) and press 0. Then enter last 4 digits of social security number or account password. Wait for an agent.

To get directly to high end tech support call 1-800-493-1625 from a landline device, select the language and wait for support.
