Will the Yamaha R1 be a good first bike for me?

I just finished the MSF course and owned the lil 250 cruiser i was on by the end. wel shifting was pretty ruff at first, dropped the clutch too fast too many times, but i passed and i now realy good so wondering if i could get some advice from every1 out there if i should go with a 2008 R1 or 2008 GSXR-1000?????
 
Absolutely NOT, Its going to be much more than you can handle out the box. Start with a 600 or something in its class. Only years of riding experience prepares you for a superbike like the R1. I have seen too many friends crash and burn on their rice rockets trying to be cute and impress. Who cares what you ride as long as you CAN ride.
