Will the transmission in a 96 Cherokee sport work in a 96 Grand Cherokee Laredo?

I have both A 96 Cherokee Sport, and a Grand Cherokee Laredo. They both have the 4.0 engine. The sport has been wrecked, and the other the transmission is bad. The pan is different, which of course means it is a different transmission. What I am wondering is if it will work without a lot of changes. Thanks for your help.
