Will the little bugs that eat cardboard also eat my..?

I just moved and I've found five little black bugs. Four were dead, two pairs on two separate boxes. There was only one alive and it was crawling on the floor. They weren't flat like bed bugs. They are all also in one room of a basement, where I put all my boxes.

I am afraid that, since these are the kind that eat cardboard, will they also eat my clothes and my books within the boxes?

I am the most scared for my books because I have a lot of them autographed.

If they do eat books, how can I save them??
