There are some serious internal problems holding the GOP back. For instance...
Sarah Palin cannot be party of the political process.
You can't release a song called Barack the Magic N*gro to other members of Congress.
You need to draw a bright line between policies aimed at ILLEGAL immigrants and policies aimed at immigrants.
You can't claim that our current economic problems were created by Obama.
You can't claim you're the party of personal freedom then try to constitutionally ban gay marriage.
You can't claim you're the party of fiscal responsibility then elect (and re-elect) presidents like Bush.
You can't allow a ranting bigot like Rush Limbaugh to be the voice of your party.
Do ANY Republicans realize they need to change or will the GOP go the way of the Federalists?
