will taking distance learning classes look bad on my university application?

I am a freshman in college, next year I am planning to go abroad for a year for culinary school and foreign language classes. since I am just taking basics I am planning to continue my courses through distance learning (I have taken a few before and understand the rigor involved) and I'm wondering if this will affect my chances of being able to transfer my credits to a foreign university in my junior year? I am U.S student and I would like to study somewhere in the U.K or one of the English language universities in Japan.
