So I did pretty bad during the beginning of high school. My overall average for freshmen year was a 65 and sophomore year was just a disaster- 47. But I tried extra hard junior year and my average jumped to an 80. I'm in senior year now and thinking about my colleges. I really want to go to Stony Brook but my scores are way off...

I also have 170 hours of community service.
Is there anything I should do to make myself seem more like I'm not a failure and that I did improve greatly?
What is Stony Brook looking for? And what else should I put into my application?
