will sprint give me a new phone for free?

Alright, so roughly 1 1/2 years ago, i received a FREE LG Rumor (1) not the newer versions, the first version. Anyways, i had that roughly for 4 months, and it started turning off and such, i googled, and a lot of other people had this problem also. I took it to the store and they confirmed that also. They said they would give me a Samsung Rant but i opted not to, mainly because i didn't really like that phone, and because they wanted to extend my contract. Well, now my phone is completely broken, the screen flickers and goes black to the point that you can not see what your trying to read. Well, i don't feel like going back to the store and having to deal with those people until i know if there is some kind of loophole that i can get another "free" phone there offering, without extending my contract another year. *also, my plan is less than $35 a month, so they won't let me have the "get a new phone every year!" deal.

So basically, loopholes to get a new phone without renewing contract, to replace an LG Rumor.
