Will Sprint charge me extra for using Phone as a Modem?

I have an LG Lotus on Sprint and it says I can use Phone as Modem. Does it mean I'm using my computer internet for my phone? and if I don't have the internet on my phone, will it charge me extra for connecting on the internet from my computer with my phone?
