Will Spirit jailbreak work if I have itunes 9.2.0.61?

I've been looking all over the internet, and it looks like spirit jailbreak will work, but the site says it needs under 9.2. Does this mean It won't work, and if so, what can I do to jailbreak my ipod 3g on 3.1.3?
