I love photography and I know some of the terms professionals use, but I see amazing HDR photos, and I have no clue how to do it! I believe its taking photos quickly one right after another, then placing them on top of each other (using photoshop or something). Am I right about this? Can someone explain how to do this?

HDR photography also has something to do with "exposure." I also see photos using "long exposure" often with some sort of light line going through it. I also hear of "short exposure" "3 second exposure," etc..
What is "exposure" and "3 second exposure" and how does it work?

Star if you can!

I would love to know how this all works!

You will love taking a class in photography ... all that and more will be reviled.

In the meantime, exposure means controlling the amount of light that strikes the film or sensor to provide a perfect exposure. Over exposure of course is when the the film or sensor is over exposed and under exposing is when the film or sensor is underexposed, no matter how small the amount.

HDRI ... there are some excellent treatises on HDRI ... have you used Yahoo Search or Google to search for some sites?

Here is how you can do it.

Put your camera on a tripod.
Using your light meter set your cameras exposure correctly and take a shot. Next adjust your shutter speed to one stop over and take another shot, followed by adjusting the shutter speed one stop under. Now you will have three image files of the same shot. One each of OE, NE and UE. then all you have to do is combine them using either Photoshop or another HDRI program.

Don't be tempted to use the aperture to adjust the exposure because there will be variations in the depth of field between exposures.
