Will someone explain how ALL financial responsibility fell on Buffy?

This point frustrates me so much! Buffy was dead for 147 days. And in that time somehow her "friends" managed to blow through the money that Joyce set aside for College for Dawn and Buffy and for living expenses etc. Joyce seemed like a woman that had it together, so I can't imagine she left anything but an ample estate. I know they talked about medical expenses, but Joyce would have had medical insurance (at no point was she unemployed). I just can't imagine Joyce leaving Buffy and Dawn less than "well" taken care of. And even if they had to live modestly, she would have left things in order with enough money to pay the mortgage, modest living expenses, expenses for Dawn, etc.

But, OK, I guess the reality is somehow Joyce's estate was a huge mess - because lets face it, the money should have lasted longer than 147 days! Well, once they "brought" Buffy back, why would everything fall on Buffy?? (I know Giles generously gave Buffy a check to help, but he is the ONLY one that it shows giving Buffy ANY financial support from anyone else in the group). The reality is once they figured out that there was no money to pay for the house and expenses then in all rights expenses should have been shared. Why is is that we never saw Willow or Tara contributing and they got the biggest bedroom in the house? (Another point that bugged me. Once Buffy came back she should have gotten her mom's room and Willow and Tara should have insisted and I don't understand why they didn't), for gosh sake we're talking about the room the belonged to Buffy's mom - the person she loved more than anyone. I never saw Willow or Tara heading off to work to help support the household! They don't even seem to worry about it, which makes it worse!I never saw Wilow or Tara writing Buffy a check for their share of rent and expenses. All I ever saw was Buffy worrying about how she was going to pay for it all and having to take a job, give up school, and worry, worry, worry.. No wonder Buffy felt a need to escape and bang Spike! On top of that she has to worry about her slayer duties - which again now none of friends seem to worry that this is all too much for Buffy.

And then Buffy is left feeling "guilty" because she didn't notice that Willow was in trouble with magic! GMAB!! SO, Buffy was brought back to life (from a place that seemed like Heaven), had to adjust to being back, found out she was broke, was left with the responsibility of not only her sister, but of Willow and Tara financially. Of course Buffy felt her Duty to being "Slayer" and I guess a Duty to being responsible for everyone else (even those that should have realized that they shared some of the responsibility with her).

It just would have been nice to have had to clarified that Willow and Tara paid rent and expenses while they lived there. Because, it certainly didn't seem like it.
